Shield
Cobalt blue and golden yellow are the colors traditionally used by Chemical units. The benzene ring is adapted from the United States Army Chemical Corps insignia of branch. The light blue hexagon refers to the First Washington United States Volunteer Infantry, the first organized militia in the Yakima area. The dragon signifies vigilance; the mountain symbolizes Mount Rainier, a prominent Washington landmark and highlights the location of the unit. Together, the dragon and mountain represent power and strength.
Crest
The crest is that of the Washington Army National Guard.
The coat of arms was approved on 20 Apr 2000.
